Podcaster Joe Rogan expressed strong criticism of President Trump before the upcoming UFC event at the White House. He focused on Trump’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files and the ongoing conflict in Iran. Rogan, who had endorsed Trump for the 2024 election, highlighted the president’s perceived failure to deliver on his promises regarding Epstein’s files and other campaign pledges.
In last Friday’s episode of The Joe Rogan Experience with outdoorsman Cameron Hanes, Rogan voiced frustration. “We’re all pissed,” he said. “We thought all that would be released post-election. It’s about draining the swamp and exposing all the pedophiles.”
Cameron Hanes, an Oregon native, suggested that Trump began addressing the swamp during his first term, with some hope for the Republican’s return to office. He stated, “I don’t even know what this is,” implying uncertainty about the situation.
Rogan, who has previously spoken against the administration’s stance on the Iran war, remarked, “Well, it would have been a whole lot different for — first of all, if we didn’t bomb Iran. The first time, we were good. The second time I questioned our actions.” This refers to U.S. military actions in Iran.
The U.S. and Iran have tentatively agreed to end the conflict, involving the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and U.S. port blockades in Iran. Talks are planned over 60 days about Iran’s nuclear program and lifting sanctions, with the deal expected to be signed shortly, as per Pakistani officials and reports from the Associated Press.
Rogan, scheduled to commentate at the UFC event celebrating Trump’s 80th birthday, argued that the war had little support among U.S. citizens. “Most people in the country don’t want it,” Rogan said. He differentiated between staunch supporters of Israel and those advocating for an ‘America first’ approach or avoidance of needless wars.
Earlier, Rogan voiced concerns about the U.S.’s vulnerability due to the Iran war and the country’s readiness for unforeseen crises. “I don’t like the Iran war thing,” he said in a comment on the upcoming UFC event at the White House.
Comedian Harland Williams responded, questioning Rogan’s stance on Iran’s nuclear capability. Rogan, however, drew parallels with the prolonged U.S. involvement in Afghanistan post-9/11, worried about repeating history. “I don’t necessarily know there’s a clear way to get out of this,” he added.
The Center for Strategic and International Studies, a think tank in Washington, reported that the Iran conflict has depleted U.S. weapon stockpiles, requiring years for replenishment due to budgeting and production constraints. Rogan has previously cautioned against potential military drafts, as advocated by a major tech firm calling for universal national service.
