Josh Duhamel, known for his acting career, is urging Minnesotans to participate in the upcoming midterm elections. He shared a video on Instagram addressing residents of the state he fondly refers to as “God’s country”.
In his public service announcement, Duhamel emphasized the significance of voting. “I just wanted to take a second to remind you that the midterms are coming up. This is such an important, such an important time. We have to get out there. We have to vote. Every single person,” he said. He expressed his affection for Minnesota, stating it is his second favorite state after North Dakota.
Duhamel maintained a neutral stance, highlighting that he would never tell people whom to vote for. He reinforced the idea of voting as a “sacred duty” for all American citizens, considering it a privilege to choose decision-makers.
The actor called for a high voter turnout. “So please, everybody, let’s get 100 percent turnout. Everybody, please, vote in this year’s midterms. Go Viks! Woo!” he declared, showing his enthusiasm for Minnesotan participation.
Despite not endorsing any political party or candidate, interpretations varied among his followers. Some associated “worth saving” with Republican support, while others viewed it as a call to vote for Democrats.
In related news, Duhamel, alongside his family, made a significant move from California to Fargo, North Dakota. He also enjoys spending time in Minnesota, where he values life “off the grid.”
In a prior interview, Duhamel reflected on his experiences in Minnesota. “I learned that I’d spent too much time sort of luxuriating in the amenities of the modern world,” he said. He highlighted the joy of getting back to basics, performing tasks he had not done in a while.
He shares his time at a cabin with his wife, Audra Mari, and their children. Duhamel cherishes the peaceful environment, noting its positive effects on his well-being.
The cabin, built over 15 years, represents a legacy he hopes to pass on to future generations. Duhamel emphasized the value of family time, preferring it over technological distractions.
