The Los Angeles Chargers entered the 2026 season with high expectations for their offense under new offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel. However, after seven weeks, the team is off to a disappointing start.
As of now, the Chargers are 0-6, recording a mere 15 points per game, the lowest in the league. Their offense, featuring quarterback Justin Herbert, only manages an average of 287.2 total yards per game.
Despite the team’s struggles, head coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed that McDaniel will continue as the offensive play-caller.
Justin Herbert expressed his support for McDaniel, stating, “It’s not his fault. It’s our fault as an offense. We have to do our job. The guys are open. Plays are being made. It’s on us to run, to block, to catch, to throw. It’s on us as an offense.”
Following their Week 7 bye, the Chargers hope to rejuvenate their performance as they gear up for Sunday’s Week 8 game against the Los Angeles Rams. The clash is scheduled to start at 4:05 p.m. ET.
