The Lakers might explore trades involving Hardy, Knecht, or Thiero. However, Hardy’s contract can’t be bundled in trades. Without viable trade options, the team would need to release a player. Although rumors suggest Bronny might follow LeBron, Dan Woike from The Athletic refutes this, saying their futures aren’t interconnected. Nevertheless, based on the roster configuration, releasing Bronny is conceivable before the upcoming season.

Bronny’s recent season comprised an average of 2.9 points, 1.2 assists, and a 41% shooting percentage from the field over 8.9 minutes per game. He spent time in the G League with the South Bay Lakers. Conversely, Jaden Hardy averaged 9.2 points in 15.8 minutes between Dallas Mavericks and Washington Wizards.

Hardy’s consistent 3-point shooting at 40% offers a strong candidate for bolstering the Lakers’ second unit. While moving on from Bronny remains uncertain, trade prospects involving him might amplify as the regular season approaches, especially if tied to LeBron’s future.
