CNN and MS NOW have extensively covered Natalie Harp, a trusted aide of President Donald Trump, following a controversial remark by Sen. Jon Ossoff. The senator suggested an inappropriate connection between Harp and Trump, which Ossoff later attempted to downplay.
In the week following Ossoff’s comment, both liberal news networks focused intensively on Harp. Reports indicate Harp’s name surfaced over 300 times on CNN and more than 340 times on MS NOW in just seven days. This coverage continued unabated, with mentions rising to 318 on CNN and exceeding 400 on MS NOW by mid-Tuesday.
CNN and MS NOW explored Harp’s letters expressing unwavering loyalty to Trump and her inclusion in Trump’s close circle that accompanied him during a covert plane change in Turkey. Harp has drawn attention due to her unflagging support for Trump, demonstrated through social media posts and actions captured during pivotal moments.
Further scrutiny arose from Harp’s participation in Trump’s secretive transportation during a court appearance, revealing her determination to remain close to the president. CNN’s interview with her estranged brother, Preston Harp, attracted criticism from conservative circles.
The White House criticized CNN’s Kristen Holmes following her inquiry about Ossoff’s remark, which led to a strong defense from CNN labeling the attack as “beneath the office.” Curtis Houck from the Media Research Center commented that the networks have aggressively pursued Harp due to opposition toward Trump.
Requests for comments from CNN and MS NOW were unmet at the time of reporting. Joseph A. Wulfsohn, a media reporter for Fox News Digital, contributed insights into this unfolding media story.
