More than 26 million Americans have already participated in the midterm elections. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump voted Saturday in Florida before Trump proceeded to Georgia for a campaign event.
Data from NBC News indicates that 14.3 million mail-in ballots and 12.5 million early in-person ballots were submitted nationwide, totaling roughly 26.8 million votes.
The Trumps cast their votes together at the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections office in West Palm Beach. After spending his morning at a nearby golf course, Trump wore an “I Voted” sticker and informed reporters that he had supported Republicans across the ballot.
When questioned about voting along party lines, Trump responded affirmatively: “Very much so.” His voting efforts coincide with his strategy to support Republican candidates in the closing stages of the midterm campaign.
Trump endorsed Representative Byron Donalds for governor against Democrat David Jolly and backed Senator Ashley Moody, running against Democratic state legislator Angie Nixon.
Trump planned to head to Georgia later Saturday, campaigning for Republican Senate candidate Mike Collins and gubernatorial candidate Rick Jackson. This marked his second rally in Georgia over eight days as Republicans aim to enhance voter turnout before November 3.
While speaking with reporters post-voting, Trump addressed various topics. He defended a contentious campaign advertisement from Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and the administration’s legal actions concerning the Alaska Senate election.
Regarding the conflict in Iran, Trump mentioned potential further military involvement and negotiation possibilities, saying: “I may have to finish it off. Or maybe they’ll make a deal, but I’m not sure. Either way, we win.”
Meanwhile, Melania Trump commented on possibly visiting Ukraine following her humanitarian involvement in Oleshky. “We will see,” she stated.
