Department of Justice Charges in Election Fraud Cases
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced charges against 16 individuals in connection with alleged election-related crimes. These charges span multiple states and involve illegal voting, voter registration fraud, and false claims of U.S. citizenship.
The DOJ warned against illegal participation in U.S. elections through a social media statement. Some of those charged are accused of voting in the 2022 and 2024 elections.
The DOJ stated, “Let this be a warning to ANYONE trying to cheat and undermine our elections. Spread the word!”

Statements from Officials
Assistant Attorney General Colin M. McDonald noted that the Trump administration charged 50 non-citizens with illegal voting. McDonald emphasized the sanctity of elections.
“America’s elections are for Americans,” McDonald emphasized.
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Markwayne Mullin has emphasized the importance of securing elections and discussed current arrest figures and ongoing investigations.
Mullin stated, “Every single vote that was at the hands of an illegal [immigrant], canceled out a citizen that was legally registered and able to vote.”
The Justice Department stressed that defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
