Pam Bondi’s Testimony on Epstein Files

During a closed-door session with the House Oversight Committee, former Attorney General Pam Bondi acknowledged her limited influence in the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files. This admission contrasts sharply with her previous assertive stance on Capitol Hill.

Bondi, who was removed from her position by President Trump in April, pointed to Todd Blanche, her former deputy and successor, as being in charge of the investigation. Representative Robert Garcia of California mentioned Bondi’s efforts to delay or avoid the session.

Bondi stated that Blanche controlled the document release process. Additionally, she frequently redirected questions to Kash Patel, director of the FBI. However, some current and former Justice Department officials, who preferred to remain anonymous, challenged Bondi’s statements. They claimed she was aware of all significant developments and had approved key decisions, including a memo in July 2025 that ended the government’s review of the files.

After the session, Bondi used social media to commend Blanche for his efforts handling the Epstein case, calling him an “incredible” attorney general and denying any discord between them.
