There is growing attention on homelessness, with many believing efforts have been exhaustive and funds wasted. Observations in Santa Clara County support these sentiments, as homelessness remains a significant issue. Currently, there are 10,711 individuals experiencing homelessness in the area on any given night. Despite efforts to secure stable housing for some, nearly double that number find themselves without a home.

The focus of the plan addresses prevention. Preventing homelessness proves to be both compassionate and economical. Tackling the root causes can significantly reduce the number of people facing homelessness.
