Andy Williams, known as The Butcher in the wrestling world, has died following a medical emergency during a wrestling event. He was 48 years old.
Williams was competing alongside his tag team partner, Jesse Guilmette, known as The Blade, at Enjoy Wrestling held at Mr. Smalls Theater in Millvale, Pennsylvania. Williams collapsed at the end of the match.
“Our doctors on staff tended to him immediately, administering CPR until the ambulance arrived,” the promotion stated. “We sent everyone home and are at the hospital now waiting for more information.”
According to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office, Williams passed away. Details confirmed to TMZ indicate that his death has left fans and colleagues in shock.
Williams was well-known in the wrestling scene as part of the tag team The Butcher and The Blade, with appearances in AEW, Ring of Honor (ROH), Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), among others.
Alongside his wrestling career, Williams was a guitarist for the band Every Time I Die from its formation in 1998 until its disbandment in 2022. The band was celebrated for its energetic performances in various music festivals and venues around the world.
The wrestling community took to social media to express their condolences and share memories of Williams, highlighting his dual careers in wrestling and music.
