On Sunday, Senator Jon Ossoff criticized President Donald Trump for his close relationship with aide Natalie Harp during a rally. Ossoff accused Trump of focusing more on personal trips than his presidential duties. This criticism came up while discussing the periods U.S. Navy sailors spend deployed on aircraft carriers this year.
“While the sailors on the Lincoln fight his war, while he fruitlessly drains our munitions and oil reserves, the president sleeps through his meetings,” Ossoff stated. “He golfs and trades stocks. See, he doesn’t want to do the job; he wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie to their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar.”
Natalie Harp, 35, was among only three aides accompanying Trump during a recent plane swap due to a potential Iranian missile threat. Trump left Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and the White House press pool behind.
Preston Harp, Natalie’s estranged brother, described her relationship with Trump as “very unhealthy,” revealing that she left admiring notes for Trump, according to The New York Times.
Newsweek reached out to the White House for a response via email on Monday outside normal working hours. This story is still developing, more details will come.
