Spencer Pratt, known from “The Hills,” is making headlines as he shifts from reality TV to politics. Running for mayor of Los Angeles, Pratt has drawn attention, both supportive and critical. Notable actress Hannah Einbinder recently voiced her opposition at an event, emphasizing the influence of wealth in politics.
Einbinder expressed concerns about individuals who, while appearing left-leaning, prioritize financial interests. She cited Pratt’s endorsement by Donald Trump as a point of contention. Einbinder advocates for Nithya Raman in the mayoral race, describing herself as underwhelmed by the overall options available.
Pratt responded to Einbinder’s comments on social media, questioning her perspective as someone insulated by wealth. He highlighted the everyday struggles faced by Los Angeles residents, suggesting that she doesn’t experience the same challenges.
Pratt commented, “I’m glad she doesn’t have to suffer the consequences of Karen and Nithya’s failures, but she’s in an elite minority and the rest of us want change.”
Previously, Pratt faced criticism from Lisa Rinna, who argued that the city’s next mayor should have substantial experience beyond reality television. Pratt countered by drawing comparisons to Karen Bass’s activities in her 20s.
In a pointed social media post, Pratt referenced Bass’s historical associations and contrasted his past in reality TV as less controversial. He expressed confidence in his background, despite critics.
Recently, Chelsea Handler questioned Pratt’s suitability, based on his lack of governmental experience. Pratt, familiar with addressing detractors, shared a clip related to Handler’s past. He pointed to articles claiming her association with controversial figures, aiming to challenge her credibility.
An L.A. Times poll showed Mayor Karen Bass leading with 26% of voter support, followed by Nithya Raman at 25%. Spencer Pratt trailed closely with 22%, demonstrating significant traction for a newcomer.
