The View co-host, Joy Behar, addressed her upcoming temporary leave from the show on Friday. She clarified that it should not be described as a “hiatus.”
Behar initially announced her plans on Tuesday during the show’s “Behind the Table” podcast. The show’s producer, Brian Teta, mentioned, “This is your last podcast for a little bit, because next week you’re not going to be here.”
On Friday, Behar addressed the rumors about her absence and clarified her plans while promoting her upcoming play.
Kathie Lee Gifford has criticized ‘The View’ for its negative tone, stating it makes everyone appear ‘miserable.’
Behar stated that her break from the show involves a two-week trip to London. She said, “I’m taking off the next two weeks. They’re calling it a hiatus. It’s not a hiatus. I’m working. I have a planned trip overseas next week to work on my play, ‘My First Ex-Husband,’ in London.”
As the audience applauded, Behar encouraged viewers to visit the official website for her play to learn more about future performances.
“I’ve written a bunch of plays,” she added, mentioning another play she will perform in the Hamptons called “Bonkers in the Boroughs.”
‘The View’ hosts debate on accepting former Trump supporters like Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Behar’s upcoming show is described as an “adaptation of true stories” focusing on romance. As co-host Sara Haines commented, “I love that they’re calling it a hiatus. That’s a break, people, when you stop working.”
Behar asked her co-hosts, “Are you going to miss me?” In response, multiple co-hosts assured her they would, with Haines suggesting Behar text them jokes from afar.
According to the website, “My First Ex-Husband” is “a bold and heartfelt adaptation of true stories by the legendary Joy Behar, comedienne and co-host of ‘The View.’ It explores the messy, hilarious truths of love, sex, and relationships with razor-sharp wit and no filters.”
The show’s rotating cast includes stars from theater, television, and film, adding their unique flair to the tales.
