Surge in Malnutrition Cases in Somalian Displacement Camps

A humanitarian official has described the situation in Somalia as shocking and beyond a critical emergency level. The country is facing a severe crisis as hospital admissions for extreme malnutrition in displacement camps have increased by 83 percent compared to the previous year. This alarming data comes from a report released by Doctors Without Borders.

The crisis is largely attributed to ongoing drought conditions and reduced aid from the United States and other donors. These factors have compounded the difficulties faced by those living in Somalian displacement camps.
