Troy Aikman and Joe Buck shared the booth for a recent “Monday Night Football” game between the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams. While the broadcast appeared normal, reports suggest a disagreement took place beforehand.
Joe Buck secured a new six-year contract extension with ESPN, ensuring his role as the voice of “Monday Night Football” for coming years. This deal has reportedly led to tension with Troy Aikman, who has yet to receive a similar extension offer.
According to sports media insider Ryan Glasspiegel from Front Office Sports, Buck addressed the underlying tension before the broadcast began. This conversation reportedly led to an argument between Aikman and Buck, which eventually calmed down.
Buck and Aikman are the longest-serving broadcasting team in NFL history. They worked together for 20 seasons at Fox before transitioning to ESPN in 2022.
The duo is scheduled to return for Week 6’s “Monday Night Football” matchup between the Washington Commanders and San Francisco 49ers.
