Trader Joe’s, a popular grocery chain, is expanding with 30 new locations across 16 states. According to the company’s website, two new stores in Anaheim Hills, California, and West Jordan, Utah, are set to open this week. The other 28 locations, spanning states from Arizona to Washington, are marked as ‘coming soon.’
A spokesperson for Trader Joe’s informed Fox News Digital that new store addresses are typically added to the list three to six months before their expected openings. Among the newly announced sites, stores in Bend, Oregon; Boynton Beach, Florida; and Phoenix are projected to open by 2027.
Trader Joe’s maintains 28 ‘coming soon’ locations spread over 15 states. Notably, Illinois leads with the most planned openings, including sites in Oswego, Chicago, and Joliet. California, Florida, and Texas each have three stores in the works.
Arizona, New Jersey, New York, and Washington are set to welcome two new locations each, while states like Colorado, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio, and Oregon will each have one.
The grocery chain, recognized for its private-label products and seasonal favorites, operates approximately 660 stores nationwide. Customers can visit the company’s website to monitor store-opening announcements as launch dates are confirmed.
Since its inception in 1967 in Pasadena, California by founder Joe Coulombe, Trader Joe’s has pursued growth. The spokesperson noted the chain’s strategy is to bring high-quality products at competitive prices to more communities annually.
Trader Joe’s offers unique products, such as Apple Cider Donuts, Pumpkin-Flavored Joe-Joe’s cookies, and holiday-themed Jingle Jangle, alongside affordable skincare items that have been compared to luxury brands.
The chain’s $2.99 mini canvas totes gained popularity, triggering long lines for new colors and high resale values online. Customers rave about the store’s warm and friendly checkout environment, with some misinterpreting the interaction as flirtation.
Inside sources, including Entrepreneur magazine editor-in-chief Jason Feifer, suggest Trader Joe’s cautious expansion strategy focuses on real estate and supply-chain efficiency. This deliberate approach aims to maintain low prices and preserve the store’s ‘treasure hunt’ shopping experience.
