U.S. President Donald Trump has openly criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for resuming attacks on oil facilities in Russia, labeling the actions as a “disgrace.”
During an interview with Newsmax, Trump was questioned about a drone strike that targeted an oil facility in Ryazan, a city located southeast of Moscow. The incident occurred on Thursday, following what seemed to be a temporary ceasefire on energy strikes that Trump had unilaterally announced the previous week.
“Zelensky is not a good guy for us to deal with,” Trump remarked. He expressed skepticism regarding Zelensky’s intentions, stating, “He doesn’t want to settle. He says he wants to settle, but he doesn’t.”
Trump continued his criticism by highlighting the economic impact of the actions. “All he’s doing is making the world oil price higher,” he asserted. “Well, I think that’s a disgrace.”
On the other hand, Zelensky has expressed disapproval of Trump’s decisions, particularly the easing of sanctions on Russian diesel. Zelensky also raised concerns about the limitations placed on the speed of the Starlink satellite network, which plays a crucial role in Ukrainian drone operations and defense strategies against Russian assaults.
This is a developing story. More updates are expected as details emerge.
