Saturday’s college football games featured exciting SEC matchups, but other games also delivered thrilling moments. Among them was Tulsa’s visit to Navy, where the Golden Hurricane scored a remarkable touchdown.
The game was tied at seven near the end of the first quarter. Tulsa found themselves at Navy’s 10-yard line. Quarterback Baylor Hayes threw a backward pass to Oran Singleton Jr. Navy’s defense pushed Singleton back seven yards, yet he broke free and threw a desperate pass into coverage.
Wide receiver David Wells Jr. made a spectacular play. He tipped the ball backward to himself just outside the end zone, caught it, and scored. Later, Singleton caught a touchdown pass, helping Tulsa gain a 26-14 lead in the second half.
This season has been tough for Navy. Last year, they were nationally ranked and won the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy by beating Air Force and Army. They also triumphed in the Liberty Bowl, ending an 11-2 season. However, they have faced more losses already compared to their previous success.
Tulsa, after a disappointing 4-8 record last season, began this year 3-2. This victory was a significant moment for the team as they aim to improve their performance.
