Utah’s Congressional Primaries: New District Map Impact
Primaries are underway in Utah’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd congressional districts. These elections will decide the Democratic and Republican nominees for November’s ballot.
Recently, Utah modified its district map, consolidating most of Salt Lake County, known for its Democratic leanings, into a single district. This shift may benefit Democrats, who haven’t held a House seat in Utah since 2021.
In the 2nd Congressional District GOP primary, candidates Karianne Lisonbee and Blake D. Moore engaged in a debate in Salt Lake City. The event emphasizes the competitive nature of the races in this predominantly conservative state.
