Jon Avery is not the typical valet. His infectious optimism and joy touch the lives of many patients at the center. Avery aims to offer meaningful encounters, always encouraging patients like Fink with a simple but powerful message: “You got this.” His words helped change Fink’s mindset during her treatment.
Fink, grateful for Avery’s support, wanted to return the kindness. Avery mentioned his dream to attend a Buffalo Bills game. Fink and her colleagues at West Herr Automotive Group raised funds, made calls, and secured tickets and field passes for him.
Avery remarked, “I serve people, that’s what I do. If I don’t have anything else that impacts others, I know I can live in service.”
This heartfelt gesture underscores the profound impact one individual can have through simple acts of kindness.
