Vanessa Trump, the former wife of Donald Trump Jr., announced via Instagram on Wednesday her diagnosis with breast cancer. In her post, she shared the news with her followers, stating, “I want to share a personal health update. I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan.”
The 48-year-old, who is a mother of five, thanked her doctors for a procedure she underwent earlier in the week. She expressed gratitude for the love and support of her family, children, and friends. Vanessa also requested privacy during her health and recovery journey, writing, “Thank you for your kindness and support it truly means more than I can express. I kindly ask for privacy as I focus on my health and recovery.”
Ivanka Trump, Vanessa’s former sister-in-law, showed support with a message on the Instagram post. She wrote, “Praying for your continued strength and a swift recovery. Love you mama.”
This diagnosis follows her boyfriend, Tiger Woods’s, return from a substance rehabilitation program in Switzerland. Woods, 50, faced legal troubles after a car accident in Florida, which led to charges of DUI and refusal to submit to a urine test. He pleaded not guilty on March 31.
Vanessa and Donald Trump Jr. were introduced by President Donald Trump at a fashion show. They married in 2005 and divorced in 2018. They have five children: Kai, 19, Donald III, 17, Tristan, 14, Spencer, 13, and Chloe, 11. Their eldest, Kai, is active as a social media personality and a competitive golfer. Earlier this month, Kai posted an Instagram tribute for Mother’s Day, saying, “Happy Mother’s Day to the best Mom I could ever ask for. I’m so thankful and lucky to have you in my life. Thank you for always supporting me and loving your 5 kids. You are such an amazing Mom and we are all so lucky to have you. I appreciate you more than anything.”
In a related instance, Trump’s Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles, announced her own breast cancer diagnosis in March. She highlighted that one in eight women in the United States faces this diagnosis. Wiles expressed gratitude for early detection and support from President Trump as she continues her role while undergoing treatment.
