Content Creator Removed from Ken Paxton’s Rally
A Black content creator who identifies as a strong supporter of former President Donald Trump and the Republican Party reported being removed from a Texas Senate candidate Ken Paxton’s rally in San Antonio on Sunday. She described the experience on social media as “beyond disrespectful.”
The woman, known on TikTok as @iamthelmalouise, has over 200,000 followers. She shared multiple videos of the incident, including footage of herself being escorted out. In one video, she expressed disbelief over the removal, stating, “I cannot believe this. Someone just came up to me and said that Ken Paxton’s campaign manager wanted me to leave. I was just asked to leave this event, and I did nothing wrong.”
Efforts to reach Paxton’s campaign for comment were made via email sent outside regular business hours. Paxton, the current state attorney general, is on his “Come and Take It” tour as he campaigns against Democrat James Talarico in a highly competitive Senate race.
In another video, the woman appeared visibly upset as she discussed the incident after driving two hours to attend the rally. She recounted leaving the Democratic Party two years prior and actively supporting the Republicans, including volunteering for Trump’s campaign. She said, “I’m not quite sure what’s going on, but to be walked out of a room full of people and isolated as if I had done something wrong, I cannot believe it. I can’t.”
She also shared her past press credentials from Republican events, like the midterm GOP convention in Dallas, stating she has not received an explanation for her removal. She speculated it might have been a case of mistaken identity, and clarified she did not blame the Republican Party, noting, “they have loved me and they have welcomed me with open arms.” However, she held Paxton’s campaign manager “100 percent responsible for the disrespect” she experienced.
