Deion Sanders Responds to Comments from His Associate

Coach Deion Sanders Addresses Comments on Critics

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders clarified remarks made by his associate Christopher Neely, known as ‘Uncle Neely’ on YouTube. Neely jokingly suggested Sanders might pay critics to silence them, claiming Sanders would offer $50,000 to stop mentioning his name. Sanders explained to reporters that his comments were not serious.

That was a joke…

Neely noted people attacking Sanders wouldn’t earn as much without Sanders’ presence. He indicated Sanders suggested paying $50,000 for silence, but nobody accepted the offer. Sanders addressed reporters, saying they misinterpreted the situation.

Sanders’ Reaction

At a press conference, Sanders emphasized his comments were humorous. He discussed criticism and acknowledged facing critiques since his NFL days. Despite challenges, Sanders remains unapologetic about his approach to life and coaching.

Sanders asserted, I would never offer a man money. I don’t give a darn what you say about me…

Sanders’ Tenure at Colorado

Since joining Colorado, Sanders has enhanced the team’s visibility, achieving notable success. His tenure began after success at Jackson State. Under Sanders, Colorado made a bowl appearance in his second season but struggled with a 3-9 record for the 2025 season. Starting the current season with two wins, the team has since lost five consecutive games. Colorado’s next opponent is Kansas State.
