Masked Men Spotted with Apparent Weapons in Delaware Neighborhood

On Friday night, surveillance cameras captured at least two masked men in a Delaware neighborhood, raising concerns among residents. The New Castle County Police Department released images showing one man wearing a tactical vest and holding what seemed to be a rifle as he knocked on a home’s door.

Another photo depicts a separate individual wearing a black vest and mask, also approaching a front door. Reports from residents on the 1200 block of Canvasback Drive in Mallard Pointe, New Castle, emerged at around 10:50 p.m., prompting police to respond to a suspicious person call.

According to the reports, a man in a black hockey-style mask and tactical vest was seen approaching homes with an object resembling a rifle in his possession. This individual reportedly knocked on doors before fleeing the area.

There were also sightings of four men moving east on Mallard Road, two on bicycles and two on foot. Despite a search by officers and a K-9 unit, the individuals were not located. While the police have yet to verify if the weapons were actual firearms, there is a possibility they were airsoft-style guns.

Authorities urge anyone with information or home security footage from the area to contact them. You can call 911 or the non-emergency number at 302-573-2800.
