President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Tuesday for a medical and dental check-up, confirmed by a White House official. This marks his third in-person doctor’s visit in just over a year. His previous visits to Walter Reed occurred in April and October of 2025. Additionally, Trump made two dental visits in West Palm Beach this year, with the first in January and a follow-up earlier this month.
Trump, approaching his 80th birthday, is the oldest person to have assumed the presidency. He frequently insists he is in excellent health, despite circulating rumors about his condition. His campaign for re-election emphasized his vitality and energy, contrasting himself with his rival, whom he dubbed “Sleepy Joe Biden.” Nonetheless, questions persist around Trump’s health due to instances of apparent drowsiness and a bruised hand. The White House attributes this to frequent handshaking and his use of aspirin as a blood thinner. Last year, Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency after experiencing mild leg swelling.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal published in January, Trump remarked, “aspirin is good for thinning out” his blood, adding he prefers not having “thick blood pouring through [his] heart.” His visit in October 2025 was originally described as a follow-up by the White House, but Trump later disclosed he had an MRI. The procedure was ultimately clarified to be a CT scan focused on his heart and abdomen.
President Trump agreed to meet with staff and soldiers at Walter Reed Medical Hospital in October. To maximize the President’s time, we suggested a routine physical evaluation to ensure ongoing health,” stated Dr. Sean Barbabella, the president’s physician. “As part of this examination, we asked the President to undergo advanced imaging — either an MRI or CT Scan — to definitively rule out cardiovascular issues. The President agreed, and our team performed a CT Scan. The post-examination report confirmed normal imaging with no abnormalities.
After his visit in April 2025, Dr. Barbabella reported that Trump “remains in excellent health, with strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function.” Barbabella added, “President Trump’s daily schedule includes multiple meetings, public appearances, press engagements, and frequent successes in golf events.”
