The Los Angeles Rams faced significant disappointment after their missed field goal attempt allowed the Buffalo Bills to seize another offensive chance in overtime. The Bills capitalized by kicking their own field goal to secure a 37-34 victory during Week 5’s “Monday Night Football.”
Post-game tensions were evident as Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson reportedly exchanged words with Bills edge Bradley Chubb. Although the specifics of their conversation remain unknown, video footage seems to capture Jackson striking Chubb. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Jackson is likely to face a two-game suspension.
Schefter posted on X that Jackson’s suspension is expected due to his actions during the postgame interaction with Chubb. However, the NFL has yet to inform the Rams or the NFL Players Association officially.
The Rams, currently holding a 2-3 record, are scheduled to face the Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders in the coming weeks. Responding to the incident, Chubb stated he has moved past the altercation and is focused on the upcoming Week 6. He acknowledged the game’s emotional nature and mentioned, “Tempers got flared… we are onto next week.” Despite the incident, Chubb contributed two tackles during the game.
With three losses in five games, the Rams are not where they hoped to be at this stage of the season. Rams head coach Sean McVay indicated potential roster changes to address performance issues. On Tuesday, the team released kicker Harrison Mevis following his unsuccessful field goal attempt and a blocked attempt during overtime.
