Foreign visitors are experiencing American culture during their stay for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Rich Edson, from Fox News, and podcast host Emily Austin highlight this cultural exchange. Videos show fans enjoying US cities, trying local dishes, and celebrating soccer moments together.
Canada faced South Africa in a tense Round of 32 match on Sunday. Despite entering as favorites, Canada struggled to score until the 92nd minute. A misdirected header by a South African player landed with Canadian midfielder Stephen Eustáquio. He controlled the ball and scored, leading Canada to victory.
The match’s statistics favored Canada, with seven attempts on goal compared to South Africa’s one. Canada’s expected goals sat at 1.32, while South Africa’s at only 0.13.
“Canada’s first knockout victory came as they co-host the World Cup alongside the United States and Mexico,” remarked Edson.
Although Canada played its group matches at home, it competed in Los Angeles for this match after finishing second in its group. Canada will play the winner of Netherlands vs. Morocco in Houston on July 4.
In other matches, Bosnia and Herzegovina, finishing third in Group B, will face the United States on July 1 in Santa Clara, California. The US team topped its group and is favored to win against Bosnia. A win would set the stage for a match against either Belgium or Senegal on July 6.
The competition sees not only intense soccer matches but also a celebration of cultural experiences as visitors enjoy what the United States has to offer.
