Country musician Jake Worthington has announced a break from his music career. On Friday, Worthington, known from his time on “The Voice” in 2014, shared on social media his decision to step back from the spotlight.
“I live a life like my heroes, but it has overwhelmed me,” Worthington shared on Instagram. “I care deeply for my family, friends, and fans. I must take some time for myself, my wife, and our daughter.” He reassured fans, “I promise to return even better. God bless country music.”
Support for Worthington came quickly. Carly Pearce commented, “This takes a lot of courage. Proud of you!”
“La you bro!” Dierks Bentley added.
Another admirer wrote, “You’re a beautiful soul, and your voice is forever. Take care of yourself and your family. We’ll be here when you’re ready.”
Worthington is not alone in taking a break from the music scene. Earlier this year, fellow country artist Chase Rice announced his decision to step away from touring. In a January Instagram post, Rice reflected on his 13 years on the road.
“I’ve been living a dream greater than I imagined,” Rice stated. “But it’s taken a toll. I’ve lost touch with the joy of being on stage and why I started music. I need real-life experiences to write about.”
Rice admitted the demands of touring had worn him down, both physically and mentally. “After 13 years, I need to take a break. It’s not just a decision, it’s necessary for me,” he added, emphasizing this moment as significant in his life.
For Rice, this hiatus marks a new chapter. “A lot of artists do this all the time, but it feels big for me,” he concluded.
