Cristiano Ronaldo silenced his critics with a standout performance against Uzbekistan, ranked 58th in the world by FIFA. The Portuguese forward became the first player to score in six separate World Cup tournaments.
Ronaldo’s feat occurred as Portugal triumphed 5-0 over Uzbekistan. His initial goal came after connecting with a cross from João Cancelo, sending the ball past the goalkeeper with his right foot. In the 39th minute, Bruno Fernandes assisted Ronaldo for his second goal, stretching the score to 3-0.
At 41 years old, Ronaldo is the second-oldest World Cup scorer, trailing only Cameroon’s Roger Milla, who scored at age 42 during the 1994 tournament in the United States.

Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have both played in six World Cups, a historical record. Ronaldo’s World Cup scoring started in his first appearance in 2006, followed by successful entries in 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022. Contrarily, Messi did not score during the 2010 tournament held in South Africa.
England, after an impressive win over Croatia, encountered a stalemate against Ghana in a 0-0 tie. Meanwhile, Croatia defeated Panama 1-0 in Group L. In Group K, Colombia overcame the Democratic Republic of the Congo 1-0.
World Cup Preview
Following their lively celebrations in Boston, Scotland’s supporters have shifted to Miami, where their team faces five-time champion Brazil. The Scots are aiming to advance beyond the group stage after eight previous exits. Their campaign began with a 1-0 victory over Haiti but faltered in a loss to Morocco.
Scotland currently holds third place in Group C with three points. Securing a draw against Brazil or a narrow defeat could ensure progress.

Brazil faced criticism after a 1-1 draw with Morocco before reclaiming confidence with a 3-0 win over Haiti. Neymar, a 34-year-old forward surprisingly selected by manager Carlo Ancelotti, might return after a calf injury.
Men In Blazers Commentary
Cristiano Ronaldo responded to Lionel Messi’s recent achievements by claiming multiple records, including scoring in six World Cups, through Portugal’s 5-0 win over Uzbekistan.
Meanwhile, England is reassessing its performance following a goalless draw with Ghana. The match marked the first instance with no first-half shots on goal this tournament, and a penalty was controversially denied to Ghana’s Prince Adu.
