The New York Knicks have accepted an invitation to visit the White House to celebrate their NBA championship. This was confirmed by the team’s owner, James Dolan, on Wednesday. At the same time, a potential visit for the Seattle Seahawks remains uncertain, months after their Super Bowl victory.
“We just did receive an invitation from the White House, which we accepted,” Dolan stated on WFAN New York’s “The Carton Show.” He also mentioned that they are working out the details, including the date and size of the group that will visit. Dolan expressed pride in bringing the team to the White House, noting his long-standing friendship with the president.
President Donald Trump attended the Knicks’ Game 3 against the San Antonio Spurs at Madison Square Garden. This game resulted in the Knicks’ only loss in the NBA Championship Series, which they concluded with a 4-1 victory. The celebration with the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy took place after their win in Game 5 in San Antonio on June 13, 2026.
In contrast, the White House visit for the Seattle Seahawks seems to be on hold. Although Seattle won against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX on February 8, a visit remains unconfirmed. The White House press office commented to Fox News Digital that there is no current information to share, suggesting people check back later.
The timing for a visit by the Seattle Seahawks is growing difficult. The last NFL team to visit the White House was the Philadelphia Eagles, who celebrated their Super Bowl LIX victory on April 28, 2025. This visit occurred during their offseason, aligning with their schedule. The Seahawks completed their offseason program on June 11, and players and staff have dispersed for summer break without immediate plans for a White House visit.
Gathering the players together again before the training camp starts in late July is unlikely. A White House visit would interrupt the team’s usual travel plans, which is rarely favored by NFL coaches. Another possible window for a visit coincides with Seattle’s game against the Washington Commanders on September 27. However, adjusting travel schedules to include a White House visit is considered improbable given it disrupts routine preparations for away games.
If the Seahawks’ White House visit does not happen, this circumstance raises questions about communication between the White House and the team. There was a similar instance with the Eagles in 2018. Hence, the chance remains that a visit might only be feasible during the NFL regular season games.
