Rod Stewart, the renowned rock legend, unexpectedly canceled two performances in Las Vegas shortly before taking the stage. The shows, scheduled for May 29 and 30 at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, were called off following a medical recommendation.
A representative for Stewart informed the Las Vegas Review that he is scheduled to return with performances starting June 2. Stewart personally addressed his fans, apologizing for the inconvenience, and explained that the cancellation was due to vocal rest required for recovery from a sinus infection. He expressed his eagerness to reconnect with fans in upcoming shows.
“My apologies to my family of fans. I am on vocal rest as I recover from a sinus infection. I look forward to seeing you at a future show at Caesars Palace or on tour this summer.” – Rod Stewart
The last-minute cancellation led to reactions from fans. Comments on social media reflected disappointment, with some suggesting Stewart should consider retirement to enjoy his later years.
Despite these opinions, Stewart has no plans to retire completely. In 2024, he announced he would cease large-scale tours but emphasized his passion for music, clarifying that he loves performing and intends to continue.
“This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire. I love what I do, and I do what I love.” – Rod Stewart
Stewart, now 81, maintains his fitness regimen, something he has prioritized throughout his career. He joked about his physical condition, claiming he can sprint 100 meters in 18 seconds.
He shared with AARP about his lifelong engagement in soccer and ongoing workouts with the same trainer for nearly four decades. His fitness activities include underwater training, where he moves a brick across a pool and engages in 100-meter sprints on his private track.
“I got it down to 19 seconds by learning how to push off. I’m going to try and do 17 seconds, which I think is a world record for an 80-year-old.” – Rod Stewart
Rod Stewart’s commitment to both his music career and personal fitness remains strong, ensuring that he continues to entertain his audience while maintaining his health.
