Actor Sylvester Stallone, known for his legendary action roles, is addressing criticism over nepotism after choosing his daughter, Scarlet Rose Stallone, for a role in his crime drama “Tulsa King.” The 80-year-old star has given a straightforward response to those questioning her merits on the show.
Commenting on the issue of nepotism, Stallone explained, “If you haven’t performed a little nepotism, then you may not be a good parent. Your kids come first.” He firmly believes in providing advantages for his children, leading him to cast Scarlet in a prominent role.
Scarlet Stallone takes on the role of Spencer in “Tulsa King,” while Stallone himself portrays Dwight “The General” Manfredi, a New York gangster transitioning to build a criminal empire in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Despite the familial connection, Stallone asserts that obtaining an opportunity does not equate to maintaining excellence, which remains unguaranteed.
Since its debut, Scarlet has seen her character evolve over the seasons, with season four showing her deeper involvement in the criminal operation. Stallone shares three daughters with wife Jennifer Flavin, which include Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet.
In a recent conversation with Fox News Digital, Stallone discussed the toll his decades-long Hollywood career has taken on him physically, notably after the “The Expendables” franchise, which resulted in substantial injuries. “I’ve been injured numerous times, culminating in multiple back operations and neck fusions,” Stallone recounted, emphasizing the extreme demands and costs of performing stunts.
Stallone openly reflects on his past choices regarding the action-heavy scenes. He candidly admitted, “I think I’m an idiot for doing stunts that led to significant injuries. I’m not proud I broke myself to pieces.” He advised letting professionals handle stunt work in future endeavors.
