The golf world eagerly awaits Tiger Woods’ return. His career has often faced the question of when he might play again, especially following his recent troubles.
Earlier this year, Woods faced a DUI-related arrest in March. This arrest resulted in two misdemeanor charges in Florida. After completing a rehab program abroad, Woods struck a plea deal in September, allowing for reduced charges.
In a public appearance at the Martin County Courthouse on September 2, Woods aimed to change his plea concerning the March 27 crash on Jupiter Island. More recently, a video surfaced in early October of Woods hitting golf balls at a TGR Live event, fueling speculation about his return to competition.
Now eligible for the PGA Tour Champions circuit as he turns 50, a debut on the senior circuit is a tantalizing possibility for Woods. However, he has not committed to competing on this circuit yet.

Possible scenarios for Woods’ comeback include a potential appearance at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas. Woods frequently hosts this tournament, set for the first week of December. It offers a perfect setting for a competitive return. Although the initial list of 20 players only included 17 names, three tournament exemptions await announcement. Woods might use one of these slots, despite not playing this event since 2023.
Another route for Woods is through the TGL, a simulated indoor league he co-founded in 2022. Although the 2027 TGL schedule remains undisclosed, Woods appears on Jupiter Links’ roster for next season alongside players like Tom Kim and Max Homa. This inclusion suggests Woods has plans to compete at least to some extent. If the TGL maintains its usual pattern, its events would begin in late December and continue through March.
Notably, Woods last participated in tournament play at The Open in July 2024. Fans and the golf community keenly await to see which path he might choose for his return.
